Overview of Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 8-18mm f/2.8-4 ASPH
The about $1098 Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 8-18mm f/2.8-4 ASPH is a compact wide angle zoom lens for micro four thirds. On the Olympus E-M1 Mark II (as I tested it), it balances extremely well and is great fun to shoot.
As compared to 35mm full frame, its field of view ( is equivalent to a 16-36mm in its field of view and equivalent to f/5.6 - f/8 in terms of its depth of field. That is, it’s like shooting a 16-36mm f/5.6-8 on 35mm full frame in terms of field of view and depth of field, but with lens speed (f-stop) of f/2.8 - f/4.
