RAW vs JPEG

This pages shows what you can expect by shooting RAW as compared with the in-camera JPEG. The sample image. The sample image is the same one as used on the Resolution page; you can download the RAW and in-camera JPEG file there.

The G1 was set to film mode Standard.

Distortion

The G1 auto-corrects lens distortion for the in-camera JPEG. At 23mm, this reduces the angle of view.

Color is better with the in-camera JPEG; I did not have time to zero in on the best settings for RAW Developer (used to process the RAW files).
