White Balance and Tint in Adobe Camera Raw (Outdoor Portrait)

This page explores white balance and tint for a portrait in an outdoor setting.

No filters were used; the Ricoh GR does not accept filters without an adapter.

As found on the landscape example, the Adobe Camera RAW color rendition is far too warm. Camera white balance and/or a color temperature around 4200°K work best.

Lighting conditions

This image was taken at 16:55 PM on the summer solstice at 11,500' elevation, so the sun was still relatively high. While the light becomes slightly warm at that time of day, it is also high altitude.
