Aperture Series: Campito the Feral Stallion Grazing in Blue Dusk
Starring Campito the feral horse grazing at dusk*, this aperture series from f/1.4 to f/5.6 assesses across-the-frame and near-to-far sharpness, secondary color correction, and focus shift. The lighting was extremely blue, which is always difficult challenge for a lens, the blue/violet spectrum being the most difficult to correct for. It does appear to be a factor.
Images from f/1.4 to f/11 at up to full camera resolution.
* Campito graced this area for at least 4 days, hardly straying outside a small area, even when a storm blew in (hence the fresh snow) that dropped temperatures below zero. I’ve seen him in this area for at least ten years, always alone, a living landmark.
