60MP Sony A7R IV
Sony FE 12-24mm f/4 G

Examples: Twenty Lakes Basin (Sony A7R IV)

This page shows a variety of examples, some single frames and some focus stacked with theSony FE 12-24mm f/4 G.

The sample of the 12-24mm f/4G used here has a consistently weak right side, just like the sample I tested two years ago (on the Sony A7R II)! Quality control at Sony seems to be very loose, as so many Sony lenses are problematic.

Performance at 12mm in the outer 1/4 of the frame is visibly soft with poor depth of field, appearing as if the lens had been designed for APS-C. At 12mm, even an ideal sample of the 12-24mm is likely to require focus stacking for satisfactory results, at least to my standards.
