50MP Sony A1
Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II

Aperture Series @ 63mm: Cabin at Sunrise

Sample3 serial number xxx2502. Shot on the 50-megapixel Sony A1.

See the similar series with the Voigtlander FE 65mm f/2 APO. I shot this series as a comparison, but the focus was mismatched enough that it is presented separately. Add in focus shift, and the direct comparison is pointless.

Sacrifice superior results for the convenience of a zoom? Lousy idea when the lens actively undermines sharpness by aggressive focus shift.

This aperture series from f/2.8 - f/11 confirms the findings in the shootout, showing that the aggressive rearward focus shift hugely degrades sharpness in the zone of focus.
