These examples at f/1.4 give a sense of the rendering style of the Sony 35mm f/1.4 Distagon with a caveat: not one image is sharp anywhere on the right side; the lens used here has some kind of optical problem. The images are shown as an aid to understanding what a badly assembled lens* looks like in practice. And yet the overall look of the images is still worthwhile in getting a feel for the rendering style, which is very nice, with high contrast overall, similar to its 35/2.8 and 55/1.8 siblings.

* Strictly speaking, it cannot be ruled out that some kind of impact (drop, etc) between the factory and my door occurred. But neither the lens box nor the shipping box had any sign of trauma.
