Introduction to Sony A7R II
The about $3198 Sony A7R II appeared in early August 2015 as a worthy replacement to the 36-megapixel Sony Alpha A7R (Nov 2013).
The A7R II produces 42.2 megapixel images (7952 X 4304), a step up over the 36 megapixels of the A7R, but the sensor is also a state-of-the-art new design as of 2015, promising lower noise and superior image quality.
But setting aside the sensor, the improvements in the A7R II go far beyond the relatively sensor and resolution, starting with an improved grip, 4K video, sturdier lens mount, and many more updates that have real value in usability.
