Noise Reduction by Downsampling
The Sony NEX-7 is a 24MP camera, cramming its 24M photosites into an APS-C sensor.
What if that sensor had 12 megapixels instead? The noise would be lower, but what happens if we downsample 24 megapixels to 12 megapixels?
