Focusing the Voigtlander 50mm f/2 APO-Lanthar is a joy, whether in magnified Live View or otherwise. It is so well corrected that the image snaps into and out of focus with no ambiguity at all—jaw-dropping micro contrast with no veiling aberrations, and this is true everywhere in the field with only a modest dropoff in micro contrast to the edges/corners. Its focus throw is excellent, critical for a manual focus lens. Still, the imaging power is so high that a tiny deviation can throw it off peak sharpness—but that’s par for the course with an ultra high resolution sensor with tiny 3.76 micron pixels.
