Aperture Series: Bristlecone Sculpture on Slate Outcrop, Late Dusk (A7R II)

Prototype pre-production lens used with lens coatings less good than in the production version (color shifts to cyan in the corners).

This scene shows performance across the aperture range in blue mountain light at late dusk, always a challenge for a lens, bluish light generally being the most difficult spectrum.

A7R II settings: Shading Comp = Off, Chro Aber Comp = Auto, Distortion Comp = Off.

This scene was taken in blue mountain light at late dusk. The steep slate slope was a tricky business, and it was getting difficult to see, but the Really Right Stuff TVC-24L afforded footholds for the tripod feet with two long legs and one very short one, which is why I hugely prefer the “L” version for field use. A strong wind whips the foliage around.
