Zeiss Touit 12mm f/2.8 Distagon

MTF (also vs Zeiss and Leica)

Frame edge on an APS-C sensor is just shy of 12mm offset, so that the 12-15mm distance represents the area beyond frame edge and to the corners.

Wide open, the Zeiss Touit 12mm f/2.8 Distagon offers performance that is exceptionally high contrast near the center, declining gracefully to the edges on coarse and fine structures, but going visible a little soft to the corners. However, this performance is at a level fairly called excellent overall.

Stopped down to f/5.6, the performance rises to a outstanding level even beyond the frame edges, with only the most extreme corners dropping off somewhat. Field shots suggest that f/8 offers an incremental improvement to the far corners at f/8.

Overall, this performance is very high, and see the comparisons that follow.
