These examples were shot on the 24-megapixel Sony NEX-7 during a brief trip to New York City in May 2013.

New York in a nutshell

Seemingly mundane, it is. And yet this image captures much about New York in a single image: a police motorcade for a VIP, a construction site (one can hardly walk a single block without seeing one), a passing tour boat on the Hudson river, an American flag as on many buildings, a leaden sky, an array of confusing signs and arrows and one-way streets usually at least partially blocked by vehicles, a few brave cyclists amidst the traffic, small dots of greenery sprinkled like raisins within the glass, concrete, steel and asphalt matrix, all accompanied by a never-ending din. Missing here are a woman in sky-high platform shoes (all the rage) and a water tank at building roof, well, maybe next time.
