Zeiss Touit 32mm f/1.8 Planar

Examples: Miscellaneous (Sony NEX-7)

The Zeiss Touit 32mm f/1.8 Planar was shot here on the 24-megapixel Sony NEX-7.

Some of the images show a black and white version (toggle). These aren’t necessarily presented as preferable, but they do abstract out the overall look of the lens rendering in certain ways and thus might be useful.

The image was backlit, so a 6/10 stop push was used to open up the face, yielding a pleasing high-key background that reveals pleasingly circular out of focus specular highlights which are free of hard “rim” or “candy color” edges as can be found with some lenses. The 9-blade diaphragm can just be made out, but it is circularly and smooth enough to not distract.

It’s a bit hard to get the NEX to focus exactly for a shot like this, a bit more forward would have been better.
