Vignetting / Relative Illuminance

Vignetting is moderate wide open (about 1.5 stops), and similar to the 135mm f/2 APO-Sonnar.

Stopping down to f/2.8, vignetting is on the order of one stop to the extreme corners (not shown in graph below), but becomes barely observable at f/4. (~1/10 stop).

For context, vignetting is less at f/2.8 than with the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 macro because the Makro-Planar has been stopped down one stop when shot at f/2.8.

Vignetting at close range is reduced by nearly one stop wide open, which one would expect due to the larger image circle produced at 1:2, and the fact that maximum aperture has decreased when focused to 1:2.
