Bokeh Aperture Series: Wild Onion and Shining Lake

This aperture series from f/2 through f/11 explores the ultra-creamy bokeh (blur style) of the Milvus 100mm f/2M at a reproduction ratio (magnification) of about 1:8.

As both an extremely sharp lens even into the corners wide open at f/2, the Milvus 100mm f/2M piles on the advantages with unbeatable bokeh and zero distortion.

Wild Onion and Shining Lake

The use of spherical elements (only) in the 100/2M is an important contributing factor to its outstanding bokeh: out of focus blurs are entirely free of the ugly “onion ring” bokeh that occurs with nearly all lenses utilizing aspheric lens elements. Even many very high end cine lenses sometimes show onion ring bokeh.
