Studying f/2.8, f/5.6, f/9: Blue Dusk Settles On Lundy Beaver Pond

This triple aperture series of examples examines the behavior at three key apertures: f/2.8, f/5.6, f/9. Presented primarily for studying visual impact in total, this series should provide useful insights into shooting the 21/2.8 Distagon in the field.

Notes

The 6048 size is 24 megapixels, which is 68% of the linear resolution of the 8688 X 5792 Canon 5DS R originals.

Images look spectacular on an UltraHD display, and particularly stunning on the 14.2-megapixel retina display of the iMac 5K.

Adobe Camera Raw 9.2 (486) in Photoshop CC 2015. In a few cases, chroma noise reduction was used; this is noted. Some images use contrast control, also noted.
