The previous doll’s comparison showed a profound difference in contrast at wide apertures with the Sigma 35/1.4 showing very high contrast and the Zeiss 35/1.4 Distagon showing an overall hazy low contrast rendition. Differences in correction of longitudinal chromatic aberration and secondary longitudinal chromatic aberration were also observed.
This “torture test” scene is presented to show both the contrast and color correction differences: the high contrast white lettering against a dark background reveals aberrations mercilessly.
