Noise at ISO 100 - Geese
This page shows an example of noise at ISO 200 with a very well exposed image.
I apply my usual sharpening here in ACR during RAW conversion. This does dig out noise, because noise is detail.
ISO 100
The image has been very well exposed at ISO 100, in fact it has been OVER exposed by 1.4 stops; I used a -1.4 exposure compensation (1.4 stop “pull” during RAW conversion, “expose to the right”). Thus, there can be no expectation of having any better noise performance with the NEX-7 than is shown by this example.
Which also shows that Sony NEX-7 .ARW raw files can save highlights; in JPEG this image would have been toast.
