36-megapixel Nikon D800M
Zeiss ZF.2 135mm f/2 APO-Sonnar T*

Aperture Series: MTB Gearing (D800 Monochrome)

Examples shot with a Nikon D800M, a Nikon D800 modified to pure monochrome. See the discussion on the examples page.

This series was shot using a B+W 091 red filter and a B+W 061 green filter.Worth noting is that the green filter does not block all red light and vice versa; they are not bandpass filters.

It turned out that refocusing for each filter resulted in a difference of focus that is far less about filtration than about differences in focus, which itself is a useful thing to see demonstrated. Also, the lighting was changing as the series were shot, altering the contrast here and there. And so both series are shown here since each shows strengths over the other in certain areas.
