Live View vs Autofocus with Nikon 35mm f/1.4G
I’ve posted a new example (“Redwood trunk with green lichen”) showing just how important it is to nail the focus with the Nikon 35mm f/1.4G. And how amazingly good the Nikon 35mm f/1.4G can be when focused properly. This example is with another (rental) D3x, thus one more piece of evidence showing that the focus error is not unique to my own D3x and D3s camera bodies.
Setting aside the vignetting and depth of field, could you even guess that this image was taken at f/1.4? Optical quality is very impressive at f/1.4.
