Just added to my review of the Olympus OM-D E-M5 in DAP is a study of dynamic range from -2 ... +4/3 stops in the scene shown below.

As a practical matter, “underexposing” to preserve highlight detail is something I often do. This study examines how that underexposure behaves when shooting for maximum dynamic range.
