Leica M Monochrom vs Leica M9P In the Field (Saddlebag Overlook)

In my Guide to Leica I address the question: how much better is the Leica M Monochrom over the Leica M9P for monochrome images?

Both cameras have identical resolutions (18 megapixels), but one is a monochrome sensor and one is a conventional Bayer-matrix RGB sensor.

Using the Leica 35mm f/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH FLE, I present a detailed comparison using the Leica MM, Leica M9P in grayscale, Leica M9P in color over the full apertures series from ƒ/1.4 through ƒ/16.

This comparison not only illustrates camera performance, it shows an instructive aperture series for the 35/1.4 Summilux on both cameras.
