Westcott Flex Daylight 2 x 2 ft LED Light Panel
Get Westcott Flex at B&H Photo.
Previously I tested the Cineo Matchbox and the Dracast LED500.
The Westcott Flex panels embed a a grid of LEDs into a flexible backing that can be shaped (though not bent sharply) and/or mounted on a stand and/or used with a diffuser.
I tested the Westcott Flex Daylight LED Mat Cine Set (2 x 2') for overall operation as well as white balance and tint:
Westcott Flex Daylight LED Mat Cine Set 2x2
WOW, this 2 X 2 foot panel throws a huge amount of light; it draws 200 watts and that kind of power into a highly efficient LED panel lights up a big room. A dual LED panel kit would be ideal for lighting up the room with outstandingly even lighting (the panel is dimmable from 5% to 100%).
Unfortunately the review unit arrived defective and while most of the panel lit up as expected, a rectangular section had some kind of short circuit, and would not light up (pressing on the problem area of the grid would tweak some LEDs to work or not work, so some kind of bad wiring in there). Still, this did not affect color rendition in any way that I could see; it just reduced the brightness slightly.
