The Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S arrived today. Nice lens, well thought out in design.
I hope to get into the mountains in a week or so, once the other lenses arrive. For now, I am checkout out the core behaviors of the Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S. Definitely better at the wide end than the long end.
The Nikon Z8 is a nicely designed camera, but I already feel that some things falls short of the Nikon D850 experience. Maybe there are settings to alleviate some of the behaviors I’m not liking, eg always focusing stopped down.

This series evaluates the Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S at 14mm from f/2.8 to f/11 on a near-to-far scene whose structure mimics a typical landscape photo.
Sharpness across the frame and near to far, focus shift and overall optical correction are evaluated. Comments on the Nikon Z8 are also made.
