Leica SL3 Capture Corruption: ~5% Damaged

re: Leica SL3 vs Sony A7R V: In-Depth Value Comparison

Leica SL3

re: Leica SL3: Corrupts Many Files —  at least 5 of 100.

That was firmware 1.0. Which IMO was firmware 1.0 beta 3. For those who understand software development.

The Leica SL3 still corrupts files with firmware 1.1.0.
See example below.

By some magic does The Simulation send all the problem gear to diglloyd and via random selection? While coin-operated reviewers receive problem-free cameras?

They send all the problem lenses and cameras to diglloyd” — internet forum user. Not exactly.

That is it the camera and not the card is proven by the fact that both the DNG and the JPG are corrupted in identical ways. No card-write error can do that, nor have there been any card write errors.

The SL3 is one seriously dilettante offering:

Topped off by an EVF like expired-milk that makes manual focus immeasureably more difficult compared to the Sony A7R V as well as having inferior detail and contrast and far lower enjoyment using the camera. Can you believe Leica is charging $7000 ($7500 realistically) for camera with a crappy EVF like this?

Oh, did I mention the ultra-siff manual focus that makes the camera rock from the torque and even click the lens mount back/forth (varies by lens but none good)? Even if the pixellated yuck in magnified Live View could be tolerated, which it cannot be.

In other words, the standard Leica gestalt + Leica quality control. Raging dumpster fire.
