Sony NEX-7 Review — A Lot To Cover

Sony NEX-7

I am hard at work on my Sony NEX-7 review. There is a great deal to cover, more than I had initially considered. I am getting close to a comfort level for an initial release of my review, but I want to have certain things documented before it goes live, so patience please. Meanwhile, a rumored 18MP Nikon D4 and 36MP D800 have a lot to explore, so I need to finish my NEX-7 review quickly.

Nikon and Canon users will want to read my Sony NEX-7 review— food for thought.

Non sequitur

Someone smarter than me thinks this is art, but I’d sell it for scrap metal. Whoever likes to look at stuff like this must have a screw loose. I want to see the glory of man at his potential, larger than life, the greatness of being, the beauty, the best within us, not ugly beaten-down crap like this. Who says that art has to show terror and suffering and the worst in man? (And why are photographs of the year so often depressing horrors?) The premise of death and squalor does not qualify something as art. A strong reaction to it does not make it art.

Hideous art

Is this art below? I don’t give a damn either way. I’d much rather look at it than the dead-end above. The image below evokes a joy of living, the promise of a future, why the hell would any person who wants to LIVE LIFE want to spend time pondering the worst instead of the best, the ugly instead of the beautiful?

Happy New Year. May next year treat you kindly, and enjoy every day of your life, because all we really have is today.
