These examples shot on a tripod (relatively dim light) in Cottonwood Canyon in Death Valley National Park. Because of wind, some shots were at risk of motion blur in foliage and similar. As well, depth of field is strictly limited.

The 4.1° angle of view of the Olympus 300/4 makes photographing otherwise inaccessible subjects at seemingly close range. In particular, plants growing on inaccessible steep canyon walls can be pulled in for close-up shots.
Similarly, the extremely shallow depth of field of the Olympus 300/4 makes culling a subject from the background very enjoyable.
