Sony 50mm f/1.4 ZA: Examples in Eastern Sierra
See my Sony mirrorless wish list at B&H Photo.
Following my largely f/1.4 examples in Examples in Hall Natural Area at Dusk, this series of examples includes a few that are focus-stacked and one panorama image:
Sony 50mm f/1.4 ZA Field Examples: Field Examples: Yosemite Area (Sony A7R II)
Examples at sizes up to 28 megapixels. Most were shot on a tripod.
The about $1498 Sony Planar T* FE 50mm f/1.4 ZA looks to be a winner, with high sharpness and micro contrast wide open coupled to gorgeous bokeh. A big downside for hiking is size and weight as compared to the Zeiss Loxia 50mm f/2 Planar and/or the Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 Sonnar.
A practical concern when buying the Sony 50/1.4 ZA (as with the 35/1.4 ZA and as with the 90/2.8 macro) is symmetry across the field as discussed in the shootout with the Loxia 50/2.
