Mono Lake from Mt Dana, Pre-Dawn

Get Zeiss Otus and Zeiss Loxia at B&H Photo and see my Zeiss DSLR lenses wish list and Sony mirrorless wish list.

I’m thinking about making this shot again with modern technology (45 megapixels instead of 6 megapixels!), and perhaps also with my daughter in a ultra high grade sleeping bag as model. Maybe if a permit can be obtained we’d do an overnight.

I would of course use the Zeiss Otus 28mm f/1.4 APO-Distagon, not the mediocre Nikon AF-S 28-70mm f/2.8.

Or maybe I’d shoot it with the Sony A7R III and Zeiss Loxia 25mm f/2.4 so I can carry a much lighter kit.

And if Hasselblad would get me that new Hasselblad XCD 21mm f/4, then I’d love to shoot it on the Hasselblad X1D. The new 21mm f/4 is on my to-review list as soon as I can get ahold of one The Hasselblad XCD 30mm f/3.5 would work also.

I can take anyone adventurous on a photo tour for this shot also. It’s not a dangerous climb at all, but you do have to have some fitness.
