Zeiss Batis 40mm f/2 CF Aperture Series: Yellow Leaves on White Aspen Trunks
Get Zeiss Batis at B&H Photo and see my Sony mirrorless wishlist.
The series looks at overall imaging performance from f/2 through f/13. The Zeiss Batis 40mm f/2 CF does an amazingly consistent job all the way into the extreme corners.
These white aspen trunks caught might eye along with the yellow leaves. I processed the image for the high key look with relatively low overall contrast. In my review of the Zeiss Batis 40mm f/2 CF:
Zeiss Batis 40mm f/2 CF Aperture Series: Yellow Leaves on White Aspen Trunks
Includes images up to full camera resolution from f/2 through f/13.
The Zeiss Batis 40mm f/2 CF is an outstanding lenses that absolutely has to be in my bag. At about $1299 it is very reasonably priced for its performance, and the close focus capability (high performance at close range) only adds to its appeal. At this point, I’d have to call it the best available ~35mm lens option for Sony with only one caveat: 40mm is significantly less wide than 35mm.
