Hasselblad XCD 35-75mm f/3.5-4.5 Aperture Series @ 35mm: Last Orange Light on Mt Whitney from Alabama Hills Lichen-Covered Formations

The new Hasselblad XCD 35-75mm f/3.5-4.5 was IN STOCK (as I wrote this). PLEASE order Hasselblad gear through links on this site.

UPDATE: I’ve added two variants scaled to 100 megapixels of the focus stacked image along with a bit of commentary, one with Photoshop Preserve Details 2.0 and the other with Gigapixel AI.

Violent winds most of the week in the Alabama Hills have made it tough to shoot anything, but two days ago I got some good material near sunset, some of which is the subject of this post. When the van’s a rockin', don’t come knockin'... but it’s just the wind in this case.

This aperture series from f/3.5 through f/11 evaluates near-to-far performance of the Hasselblad XCD 35-75mm f/3.5-4.5 at 35mm, including sharpness and overall performance.

The results here show what a truly outstanding lens the Hasselblad XCD 35-75mm f/3.5-4.5 is at its 35mm setting. Zoom lovers, this is YOUR lens for medium format excellence!

Hasselblad XCD 35-75mm f/3.5-4.5 Aperture series @ 35mm: Last Orange Light on Mt Whitney from Alabama Hills Lichen-Covered Formations

Includes images up to full camera resolution, including a 3-frame focus stack at f/9.

I love the color and overall image quality—on this point the Hasselblad X1D II deserves high praise. I wish it were 100MP and could rid itself of issues that are fixable in firmware.
