Abomination in the Nevada Desert

Destroy tens of thousands acres/hectares of desert, releasing all its carbon above and below ground, kill all its flora and fauna except noxious weeds and rats. It will take 500 years to recover.

Install mirrors which will litter the area with toxic razor-sharp glass shards for 10K years. Fry anything mid-flight. Drain irreplaceable aquifers to wash them.

Pollute the view for hundreds of miles with something once seen that cannot be unseen—an unholy death glow from 50 miles away. And that more than anything else I object to.

All for a few years of science fair project.

More and more I see vast environmental destruction with 'green' being the new brown/black of total industrial destruction, backed by resource usage 10X to 20X more intensive than the alternatives. Millions of acres of life, of fields of flowers, plowed under for toxic panels or mirrors. A despicable and venal program of graft that is denuding and sterilizing vast areas, helping no one but those sociopaths who profit, while damaging vast tracts of land for 10 generations to come.

And it’s not just the obvious idiocies—it’s “de-watering” or lowering the groundwater table by up to 1/4 mile. Green is the new brown—drying up creeks and springs with the result of killing-off a vast web of wildlife that depends on scarce water resources (not to mention people)—for hundreds of years. A bunch of f*cking sociopaths saving the earth (not) by killing it. The whole 'green' hysteria will result in environmental destruction on a scale so vast it’s hard to comprehend. You might live in city, but I travel and see the ugliness—already too many areas have been destroyed and now it’s going to be millions of acres.
