Fujifilm GF 55mm f/1.7 DUAL Aperture Series + Focus Stack: Lee Vining Creek, Classic Autumn in the High Sierra

This aperture series from f/1.7 to f/11 looks at image quality over the aperture range using two different focusing points: one about 50 yards out (already quite far!) and another on the far peaks.

It is instructive in showing that even f/11 is insufficient for peak quality even focused 50 yards out! The two series shot conventionally are all about where the compromise will be (near or far). Whereas the focus stack at f/8 which wildly exceeds the detail possible with either.
