The tripod was set at medium height and the camera was leveled. A minimal amount of fall (downward shift) was used, perhaps 1mm.
This is a tough test for a lens in terms of distortion: the straight lines of the interior have to be believable, vignetting could be an issue, and there is a deep near/far zone, making field curvature a property that could work for or against a lens.

Distortion is impressively well controlled for a 17mm lens; the straight lines looks straight even if not perfectly so. The stretching effect to the corners is geometric perspective; it is not an optical effect.
