These portraits are sharpened my usual way to emphasize any digital noise as well as the sharpness, a sort of worst case. It should be obvious that for portraits some might want less sharpness, so dialing down the sharpening is an easy option.

Note the ISO and conversion parameters for each, as they can vary with each image. Some images use ACR Fill Light, exposure compensation, etc. A better job can be done, but I want to avoid additional processing when presenting examples.
Peak sharpness is highly dependent on focus, so one should not assume that slightly soft results have anything to do with the camera’s maximum sharpness potential.
