This page shows examples from the Leica M Monochrom, and also a sort of travelogue story.
Most images on this page had some kind of simple tonal curve applied after being converted from DNG, which tends to produce flat originals (a good thing). The JPEGs from the camera (not shown) already have a pleasing tonal curve baked in.
Upper Pine Creek Canyon #1
This side of the canyon has seen some damage, mainly from an enormous tailings pile from the mine. But the mountains in the distance are so spectacular that one hardly notices (some of the best “approach” views in the Eastern Sierra). Three major canyons fork off from near the mine to wilderness areas.
The choice of focus point (not too far out) and aperture mean that the upper right cliff is just a little weak—even a 21mm cannot work wonders on DoF. One more stop might have been better.
