The change in field illumination is entirely done by f/5.6. All that remains is the natural vignetting governed by optical laws for this kind of lens construction.
Even the difference from f/3.4 to f/5.6 and to f/8 is inconsequential as a practical matter. Along with superlative performance, the only reason to stop down is to increase depth of field.
