ZM 85mm f/2 Sonnar
The Zeiss ZM 85mm f/2 Sonnar (about $2912) is one of the two ultra-premium lenses in the Zeiss ZM line, but as of 2011 it was discontinued. Build quality simply doesn’t get any better.
Both the 85/2 Sonnar and the ZM 15mm f/2.8 Distagon are/were made in Germany instead of in Japan; their optical designs unusually high precision assembly. The price reflects that origin.
