UPDATE 28 March 2017: the Baseball Diamond series was re-shot with another brand-new GFX50S and brand-new 120/4 and showed the same behavior. A camera + lens glitch seems likely. Hence the results here are not likely to change with another lens or camera sample—not until some firmware fix is made.

This series assesses the Fujifilm GF 120mm f/4 Macro R LM OIS WR at distance on a planar (flat) target which is as demanding as it gets for any lens; the subject mercilessly ferrets out any optical weaknesses such as field curvature and focus shift, assembly problems resulting in lens skew or other asymmetries, etc.
