Conclusions and Recommendations
The Fujifilm GF 35-70mm f/4.5-5.6 WR surprised and ultimately delighted me by delivering consistent sharpness across its zoom range that makes it more than competitive at some focal lengths than its prime-lens siblings. And maybe more than all of them. Provided that it is stopped-down one stop from full aperture.
The 35-70 was shown to be a higher performer than the 50/3.5, and a higher performer than the 63/2.8. Though not yet compared directly as I write this, my expectation is that it will also outperform the 45/2.8, based on examining results from the 45/2.8 shot previously on the GFX100. And my judgment is that at 35mm the 35-70mm is at least a good if not better than the Fujifilm GF 30mm f/3.5; while 30mm is somewhat wider, I am more than happy to go with 35mm for the convenience.
