@40mm: Wind Driven Clouds at Lundy Canyon Dam
This example shows the same extreme peripheral forward field curvature behavior seen in Comparing f/8 to f/11 for landscape.
Focused in the far distance, sharpness in the center is high, very nice. But it quickly declines towards the edges of the frame, very badly so. And yet the sharpness is very high at much closer range—see the bottom right corner area and how dramatically sharper it is than the mountainside in the far distance.
