Portrait Examples, Eureka Dunes

These examples shot at Eureka Dunes in Death Valley National Park. The dunes are about 700 feet / 213 meters above the valley floor—really, really big! I climbed the dunes on the winter solstice with my daughter; we had the dunes entirely to ourselves.

Most images used considerable contrast control (boosted shadows, dampened highlights).

Include images up to full camera resolution.
