Distortion and Color Fringing @ 24mm

Adobe Camera Raw auto-corrects color fringing with A7 files and there is NO WAY TO DISABLE IT (see settings at end of this page). The correction is performed regardless of camera settings, e.g., whether Chro. Aber. Comp = Auto or Off (tested by shooting the same frame with it enabled and disabled).

Distortion at 24mm

Shown for comparison are Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) with corrections off and Iridient Developer with correction both off an on. This is the same original raw ARW file; the differences (including the small positional shift) are strictly from the raw converters.

The uncorrected image from Iridient Developer shows quite strong barrel distortion, probably something on the order of 2.5% to 3%. Placing a line across the ruler in Photoshop shows that the ruler is almost perfectly straight after correction.
