The Sony A7R V has a base ISO of 100. But even at base ISO, auto-exposure metering frequently throws away a stop of headroom, greatly increasing the noise level of the captures, and even in moderately bright areas of the image. This shows up mostly as chroma noise—discolored speckles that pollute the color rendition.
