Here are compared the resolving power of the 36-megapixel Sony A7R to the 24-megapixel Sony A7 using the same Sony FE 35mm f/2.8 Sonnar ZA lens.
A range of apertures is shown for completeness and some interest on its own for each camera, but the main goal here is to assess peak performance from each camera. Hence it’s not about edges or corners or other features, but about the best sharpness from each, compared to each other.
