This article is part of a series. See Introduction to Camera Features to start.

Multi-shot high-res mode is a form of computational photography best implemented (as of early 2020) in the Panasonic S1R. It has huge potential for image quality and image detail. It presumes a very high speed CPU or GPU or FPGA.

Requirements:

  • Lossless compressed raw mandatory.
  • Must offer option to retain one of the individual images.
  • Deals with motion within image by using other images.
