Of course, the Leica M Monochrom and the new 50mm f/2 APO-Summicron-M ASPH are the real deal. I hope to see the MM in early September, with the 50/2 AA to follow in early October. Lots of coverage on both in my Guide to Leica.
UPDATE Aug 23, 2012: the Leica M9/M9P have dropped in price, strongly suggesting that something new is coming.
Rumors, totally unsubstantiated, grapevine stuff.
Take this STRICTLY FOR FUN, PURE SPECULATION. Photokina.
- New Leica M with CMOS sensor and Live View, possibly new other features. Dare we wish for some kind of AF assist and contrast peaking. Dunno.
- Leica M 28mm f/1.4 (not too big to deal with if one has EVF or Live View).
- Leica M 75mm f/1.4 (much more viable with a Live View for accurate focus).
This might all be wishful thinking, but It Is Time.
Also, perhaps a revised Leica S2, but probably what is needed (Live View along with much higher resolution to make use of the amazing Leica S lenses).
