Fujifilm X-E1 Kit: Returned Entire System for a Refund
In Fujifilm X-E1 Kit (I made the investment, due to huge discounts on lenses), I explained why I purchased the entire Fujifilm X-E1 kit with all the lenses.
I have sent the entire kit back for a refund. I would have gladly kept the lenses (the 35mm and 14mm are first-rate), but the 1/3 to 1/2 off came only with the body also, and I’ll bide my time until the next-gen Fujifilm X body arrives.
In Guide to Mirrorless in my review of the Fujifilm X-E1, I go into the Fujifilm X camera behaviors that destroyed far too much of my work.
UPDATE: added an explicit Focus Creep page. Confirmed camera bug.
I thought I had varied and extensive coverage of the Fujifilm lenses—lots of work there over the course of ten days. It turns out that I have mostly “suspect” images that cannot fairly be shown for comparisons, though some are OK for aperture series or singles (with caveats!). I still have plenty of material (I always “overshoot” for cross checking).
I have no reason to believe that its sibling the Fujifilm X-Pro1 is any different because the firmware is almost certainly shared, and these behaviors were present when I last used it.
