Many thanks to the folks at PopFlash.Photo for the Leica M10 on loan. PopFlash.photo offers many accessories for Leica M and other brands, such as the Thumbs Up EP-MX for Leica M10 and the Leica Visoflex (Type 020) EVF.
See my Leica M wishlist.
I’m working on another batch of examples to follow the Saddlebag Lake examples, this one from the Dana Canyon Lakes area just east of Yosemite.
The Leica M10 delivers excellent image quality, but with excessive color speckling in some images from the too-low resolution of the Bayer matrix sensor. It really detracts in some cases, a strong argument for at least a 36MP sensor. Leica doesn’t seem to understand just how ugly a low-res sensor can be with high-resolving power lenses. It’s time to move the resolution up.
Soon to sink into lower Dana Lake, this bighorn sheep had the bad luck to get caught in an avalanche, it seems. What a sheep was doing up there with nothing to eat is a puzzler for me. I have never seen bighorn sheep up there (probably they are on the Dana plateau most of the time), an why this one was in this area is odd as there is very little graze there, even for sheep.
Further south I was told that about half the sheep perished in the winter of 2016/2017.
